Are these live exchange rates?+
Yes — rates are fetched live from a public mid-market feed (open.er-api.com) each time you open the page, and the timestamp is shown above the result. Mid-market rates are the midpoint between buy and sell; your bank or card provider will add a small margin, so always confirm the exact figure with them before transacting.
What if the live rates can’t load?+
If your connection blocks the rate feed, the converter quietly falls back to a built-in indicative snapshot so it still works offline. The note above the result will say “indicative” rather than “live” in that case.
